Kenyans in the Mount Kenya region recently had the opportunity to learn directly from the country’s Chief Kadhi during a grand tour organized by Al Haajar TV on December 8th and 9th, 2023. The tour aimed to bring the Chief Kadhi closer to the people and provide education on various Islamic topics. The Chief Kadhi engaged with the community through a series of events including delivering a Friday sermon at Masjid Quba in Majengo Nyeri, an afternoon lecture (Asr Muhadhara) at Kinganjo Police College mosque, and a student session at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology alongside Sheikh Mustafa from the UK via video conferencing. A town hall meeting with the Chief Kadhi was also held at the Al Falah Islamic Centre on Saturday morning. Rounding out the successful tour were evening lectures at Jamia Mosque Sagana(Asr) and Jamia Mosque Muranga (Maghrib).
All the events were streamed live for a wider audience on Al Haajar TV’s YouTube channel. The thematic focus of the tour revolved around core Islamic concepts such as the function of Kadhi courts, Islamic marriage and inheritance laws, the importance of monotheism, and the Prophet Muhammad’s biography.
The chief kadhi was accompanied by Senior Principal Kadhi Sheikh Mwakutwa, Sheikh Abu Hamza, Sheikh Muhammad Bachu and Sheikh Muhammad Bahero.
Al Haajar TV expressed pride in pioneering this initiative, which provided a valuable opportunity for the public to gain knowledge and interact directly with Chief Kadhi. The channel looks forward to organizing similar tours in different regions of Kenya in the future.
